Counsel for lives and capital in motion.

A boutique legal practice in Portugal. We advise on investment, companies, commercial and civil matters, administrative law, immigration and emigration, and the relocation of people and assets. We work in Portuguese, English, French and Spanish.

Practice

What we do, stated plainly.

Investment

The legal side of capital entering Portugal: structuring, examination and execution of investments, including the legal work of residency by investment under the programmes in force.

Companies

Formation, governance and life of companies in Portugal: shareholders' matters, management structures, and the contracts a business stands on.

Commercial and civil

Contracts, obligations, property and the disputes that arise from them, negotiated when possible and litigated when necessary.

Administrative

Dealings with the Portuguese State: licensing, registrations, public procedures, and litigation with public bodies.

Immigration

Residence permits of every kind, visas, family reunification and nationality files, from eligibility to renewal, kept in good order.

Emigration

The mirror of arrival: the affairs of those who leave, or live between countries, kept in Portuguese order while life happens elsewhere.

Relocation of people and assets

The legal spine of moving a life: households, vehicles and assets across borders, tax and civil registrations, and the paperwork of belonging somewhere new.

Four working languages

Portuguese, English, French and Spanish. Advice given in the client's language, documents read in the original, nothing lost in translation.

People

Three lawyers, one standard.

Every lawyer at ipact works in at least two of the practice's four languages. Matters are handled by the lawyer, not passed down; the person you meet is the person who does the work.

You will find no portraits here. In this practice, documents carry seals; so do we.
